these are a few of my favorite things

I usually don't post about new things that I got, but I can not contain my excitement for these items. And yes, these pictures were taken on the same day as my previous post...

1. Favorite lip color: Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Coral. It's the perfect mix of orange and poppy red. In sunlight, the orange really takes the stage, and in room or darker light, the color turns to a redder shade. I like to dab it on lightly for school to achieve a stained look!

 2. New watch. Since I wear my brown leather strap watch on a daily basis, I got a watch with a black strap. It's a timelessly simple design, with gold hardware.

3. Vintage Coach purse. Okay, I am in love with this bag. I went to a thrift store, and found this gem. I was with my friend, who is also an avid thrifter, and  you should have seen our reaction! HY-PER-VEN-TI-LA-TION PEOPLE. And it looks like it wasn't worn very often because the leather is still very soft, and the hardware isn't too rusty. (lovelovelovelovelovelove) This is why everybody should  try their hand at thrifting; you never know what you will find!

Voila! What are you guys obsessing over these days? Or what are some pieces that you can never get tired of wearing? I want to know, comment below...

let it snow

Snow finally came!!!

I woke up, and it was white everywhere. I actually think snow is so pretty. Especially the really fluffy flakes that drift and dance down from the sky. It was so sunny and beautiful out.  Not too cold either.

Grey wool blazer: Gap
Scarf:  Korea
Shoes: Forever21
Bag: Vintage Coach

The only thing about snow is that I am TERRIFIED of driving in it!! I have my permit now, so I'm a newer driver. I think I'm going to have to give it a try though...

Hope you all had an awesome possum weekend.

the Lord of the Leopard

Hey people!

This week is going by very fast... Have you all read The Lord of the Flies in school? Well, we just got done with it and I have to write an essay on it. It's not the most enjoyable thing in life! Such an odd book. I often times wonder how the heck authors get their initial idea for such stories.
But then again, I guess that is how fashion designers can be so creative as well!

Leopard cardigan and bow belt: Korea
Dress and scarf: H&M
Shoes: Forever21

I wore one of my absolute favorite clothing items, my big leopard cardigan. I love leopard anything, and the loose fit and basic design of the cardigan kind of balances the bold print out. Under, I wore a dress that has a tulle fabric with pleats. I added a big black scarf, and tied everything together with my red bow belt. Red and leopard are a great couple. Don't you agree?!

Hope you are all having a good week... 2 more days until the weekend!

prep for the edge

Hello helloooo people!

I live in the Midwest, so November is a month where snow is usually 3 feet tall by now. But this year? NO SNOW. :) It's actually amazing, but worrisome at the same time. Is this the effect of global warming? Or is it just blinding us for a torturous, cold winter ahead?

Eh, we can worry about that one later. For now, I'm loving it!

White button up: Ralph Lauren
Lime green sweater & skirt: Charlotte Russe
Tights & bracelet: Gap
Necklace & Shoes: Forever21
Bag: Thrifted

I wore a collared shirt under this bright, cropped pull over sweater. To add some edge to this preppy style, I wore a fake leather skirt. I love combining different textures. Then, I put on my new flashy necklace from Forever21 under the collar. It has a rusty bronze hardware, with antique-like details. I've been seeing this kind of look everywhere, especially at J. Crew.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Thank you for stopping by!

11/11/11 MAKE A WISH

First things first, make a wish. Today is 11/11/11! This only happens once in a century people! I'm not a totally superstitious person, but I do make a wish every time it happens to be 11:11 when I glance at the time.

My photographer, Amara!

My friend and I went out to lunch and did some eye shopping at this "old-time" town. I'm always in for a good time with this chick! She may look kind of serious in the picture, but she is honestly hilarious.
For my outfit, I wore beige from head to toe. Sometimes, I just have an urge to wear one color.

What did I wish for? ....(not telling!)
:P

Urban cozy

Hey everybody!

The outfit I wore today made me feel like I belong to Urban Outfitters. Even though nothing I have on is from there, it just has their signature style: effortless, boho, and always has a hint of dorkiness. It's pretty cute and a great look for the fall!

Sweater: H&M
Shorts: Abercrombie & Fitch
Tights: Gap
Shoes: Minnetonka Moccasins

I swear that my left foot is bigger than my right, because when I wore these shoes the left one was so much tighter... Odd. But I love Minnetonkas! Seriously so comfortable, and the fringe is something that I am loving these days.

I hope everybody is doing good, and leave your comments below! :)

Faux Fur is Juicy

Hello hello!!

Faux fur is everywhere: Vests, scarves, hats, coat trims... I am on the lookout for an awesome faux fur circle scarf. Because number one, it would be warm, and number two, it would be warm. :P Today I added a small faux fur collar/scarf item I got from H&M last year. I think it adds so much Oomph and a lot more interest.

I wore this CHOOSE JUICY tshirt under a pretty sophisticated outfit to keep things sort of "age-appropriate." But then again, what really is "age appropriate" these days??

Oh meh gosh. Now this is a ring that I like to flaunt. It was handmade by the owner of the CUTEST tea party shop/eatery in San Fran called Crumpets. This ring pretty much sums up what the actual store was like. (So.cute.but.over.priced.) It's okay though, the ring itself is just so happy!

I got this small cross-body bag from the Mulberry for Target line last year. I stuffed the strap inside and carried it as a clutch! Seriously LOVED this collaboration.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great weekend!!!
